The Matthews Veterans Memorial
The area which will be defined as the veterans memorial will begin at the Love artwork
entrance to Stumptown Park and continue to the left side of the current memorial wall.
The Memorial Wall
This is the area currently comprised of the wall that was donated by the Rotary Club and is located in the center rear of the park. The following improvements will be made:
Removal of Crape Myrtles
A 5’ wall added
Service flags added
Name inscribed paver bricks
Flag lighting
Wall lighting
Landscaping on sides of wall
Irrigation
The War Memorial Garden
This is the area between the flag pole and the memorial wall. The following improvements will be made:
Removal of Crape Myrtles
Completely landscaped
Granite war monuments
Removal of tree in center
Irrigation
Monument lighting
The Memorial Plaza
This is the area surrounding the flag pole. The following improvements will be made:
Polishing of flag pole
Landscaped
Mural wall
Polishing brass plaque
Irrigation
Lighting
